Good practice case study: ITTREAT (Integrated community-based Test – stage – TREAT)
This HCV Action good practice case study summarises a 4-year Integrated Test-stage and TREAT (ITTREAT) community project in Brighton, where a specialist hepatitis nurse was appointed to lead a ‘one-stop’ holistic hepatitis C service - including testing, assessment of liver scarring, education and treatment - within a community-based substance misuse service.

Business case template: ITTREAT (Integrated community-based Test – stage – TREAT)
Following a successful 4-year project evaluation in Brighton, the ITTREAT team have produced a commissioning business case template based on their project, intended for use to secure funding for a specialist hepatitis C nurse and develop an integrated community-based hepatitis C service to engage PWID. The template is available for download in word and is designed to be locally amended.

Shooting Up: Infections among people who inject drugs in the UK, 2016
This resource, produced by Public Health England, provides an annual update on infections among people who inject drugs (PWIDs) in the UK. The report reveals that hepatitis C remains the most common blood-borne infection among PWIDs, and that approximately half (48%) of hepatitis C infections among PWIDs remain undiagnosed. Of those who were unaware of their infection, 22% reported that they had never been tested, and of those unaware but tested, 44% reported that their last test had been more than two years earlier.UK Reports & Research PDF
